About ABC Life Literacy Canada
ABC Life Literacy Canada is a national non-profit organization that has been inspiring Canadians to improve their literacy skills since 1990. We envision a Canada where everyone has the skills they need to live a fully engaged life. We work with businesses, governments, communities, and individuals across Canada to create and share free literacy programming for adults and families. Our programming covers financial literacy, family literacy, workplace literacy, health literacy, digital literacy, and civic literacy.

ABC has a small, nimble, and high-performing team. We’re a group of approximately 15 ambitious lifelong learners, keen to make a difference in communities across Canada and grow our skills while we’re at it. About the role
The AI Implementation Intern (Canada Summer Jobs) supports the Operations Team in the development and implementation of ABC's internal AI and digital procedures, policies, and tools. The AI Implementation Intern (Canada Summer Jobs) will have the opportunity to be involved and gain foundational skills and experience in all stages of AI and digital policy and procedure development from researching, reviewing, and testing various platforms, programs, and tools, to supporting business development and literacy programming, as well as workflow optimisation and accessibility improvements. The role may also involve summarising key insights from AI-assisted literature reviews, building and delivering AI training for ABC team members, and working across teams to determine which areas of operations can benefit from AI implementation and best practices.

This is a 5 day, 35 hour per week full-time role for 8 weeks with flexible hours. Much of the work will need to be done during standard business hours, but we are able to accommodate a wide array of schedules that may require flexibility around work, school, care giving, or other responsibilities.

NOTE: to apply you must meet the eligibility requirements of the Canada Summer Jobs program:
● Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the position
● Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or someone to whom Refugee Status has been granted/conferred
● Have a valid Social Insurance Number (SIN)

You will: 
● Support the development of procedures and policies around the implementation of AI tools, platforms, and resources
● Assist with reviewing and summarising literature reviews using AI tools
● Research AI best practices in nonprofit organizations
Assist with preparing and delivering AI and digital training for ABC's team

Qualifications:
To excel in the AI Implementation Intern role, you will have:
Confidence in using various types of basic office technology, including computers, applications (Google Workspace, Chrome, etc.), and communication software (email, chat, etc.)
Excellent time management and experience reporting to deadline
● The ability to summarise research results into useful data and/or information
● Excellent verbal and written skills
● Strong problem solving skills, especially while working under pressure
● The ability to work independently and cooperatively in a team environment

Education and Experience:
Experience in conducting online and other research
● Experience in working with new technology and software (an asset)
● Experience in writing, editing, and designing presentations and other documents (an asset)
● Experience working with remote teams (an asset)

Contract: Full-time, 1.0 FTE, 8 weeks
Compensation: $27.50/hour plus 4% vacation pay

Compensation

$27.50 - $27.50 per hour
